Independent Disability Support Worker

About Adam

Independent Support Worker & Certified Life Coach

I help people with autism increase confidence and independence.

What is Confidence?

I see confidence as a combination of self-awareness and courage.

Confident people go for what they want. They can do some things with ease while understanding other things may require more knowledge and/or more practice.

As a support worker and coach, I can help others increase confidence by encouraging them go for what they want, as well as gain more knowledge and practice if required.

What is Independence?

Independence is the ability to think, act, or do things without the assistance of others. Independence increases self-esteem and provides a true sense of accomplishment and satisfaction.

Everyone has a right to their own independence, however, it's important to understand that we all depend on others for certain things. Nobody is entirely independent - unless they are living alone in a cave or in the jungle ☺️

We all deserve to enjoy genuine confidence and certain levels of independence regardless of our situation.

I believe just a little more confidence and independence can make a massive difference in living a happy and fulfilled life!

Adam Gersbach - September 2023

Hi there! My name is Adam, I am 54 years of age, former business coach and digital marketer from the Blue Mountains.

Back in 2018, I was in hospital, feeling blessed and lucky to be alive. The surgical team just told me, if they hadn't operated when they did I wouldn't have survived. My large intestine was in a state of necrosis and had to be removed.

I was in pain and could barely move but it was one of the best moments of my life. I was feeling so grateful for the surgeons. So grateful to be alive. It was at that moment I made a promise to myself... when I get better, I will do something with my life. Something that matters, something that truly makes a difference.

Before the surgery, I wasn't well for several years. My life was way out of balance. I was too concerned with money, success, and business. I was out of alignment with my true nature and something had to change. I wanted to do something more suited to my personality, as well as something rewarding, interesting, and fun.

Working with people who have autism certainly is rewarding, interesting, and fun.
